Day 33 Of The East Coast
Location: Townsville
We were up bright and early to have breakfast and pack up. After a lovely couple of days I was sad to be leaving amazing Airlie!
Before heading to Townsville we managed to get an advert posted for the car on gumtree and run a few more errands.
We took a slight detour from the Bruce Highway to Bowen. A very small town that grows a lot of mango's and tomatoes. It was therefore only fitting that we stopped of to see the big mango.
We also stopped off at a rest area to cool the car and make some coffee. Strangely a lady approached Marcus and I to give us a passage message from God. Very peculiar ....
Back on the road - it was all very much the same lots of scenic mountains, sugar cane fields and banana trees.
By the time we reached Townsville it was getting dark, luckily we managed to find a campsite.
Rowes Bay caravan park - It was incredibly busy when we arrived and we struggled to find room. We ended up parking at the back near the caravans. Thankfully by now we were both pro's at putting up the tent in the dark and cooking in the pitch black!
